Freedom from Abuse & Neglect

F0221 Keep each resident free from physical restraints, unless needed for medical treatment. F0222 Keep each resident free from drugs that restrain them, unless needed for medical treatment. F0223 Protect each resident from all abuse, physical punishment, and involuntary separation from others. F0224 Protect each resident from mistreatment, neglect and misappropriation of personal property. F0225 1) Hire only people with no legal history of abusing, neglecting or mistreating residents; or 2) report and investigate any acts or reports of abuse, neglect or mistreatment of residents. F0226 Develop and implement policies for 1) screening and training employees; and the 2) prevention, identification, investigation, and reporting of any abuse, neglect, mistreatment and misappropriation of property. F0600 Protect each resident from all types of abuse such as physical, mental, sexual abuse, physical punishment, and neglect by anybody. F0602 Protect each resident from the wrongful use of the resident's belongings or money. F0603 Protect each resident from separation (from other residents, his/her room, or confinement to his/her room).
