should not have grabbed and held Resident R5 in the way she did. The DON said it was not appropriate for CNA2 to bear hug Resident R5. She stated that staff should have tried other diversional techniques to try and calm him. She said the bear hug technique could be considered a restraint and was not an approved technique. She stated that staff have not been trained on doing those types of holds.
