Introduce self to patients and explain what you will be doing2.
Gather supplies needed.3.
Provide privacy.4.
Wash hands and apply gloves.5.
Ask patients to lay on their backs and open their legs.6.
Cleanse perineum, using front to back motions.
Use freshwash cloth/ wipes for each pass from back to front.7.
Never wash back to prevent as this causes contaminationand can cause infection.8.
Change gloves in between cares and as needed.9.
Dispose of soiled gloves and perform handwashing.
