Assess the resident when there is a significant change in condition

Encode each resident’s assessment data and transmit these data to the State within 7 days of assessment.

Review or revise the resident's care plan after any major change in physical or mental health.

Ensure each resident receives an accurate assessment by a qualified health professional.

Give proper treatment to residents with feeding tubes to prevent problems (such as aspiration pneumonia, diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, metabolic abnormalities, nasal-pharyngeal ulcers) and help restore eating skills, if possible.

Keep the rate of medication errors (wrong drug, wrong dose, wrong time) to less than 5%.

Store, cook, and serve food in a safe and clean way.

Have a program that investigates, controls and keeps infection from spreading.

Ensure laboratory services, blood blanks and transfusion services provided on site meet requirements for certified laboratories; or have an agreement to obtain services from an offsite laboratory, that meets the same requirements.
