Prepare residents for a safe transfer or discharge from the nursing home.

Listen to the resident groups and act on their complaints and suggestions that affect resident care and life.

Provide housekeeping and maintenance services.

Provide necessary care and services to maintain or improve the highest well being of each resident .

Give the right treatment and services to residents who display physical or psychosocial problems adapting to changes in circumstances.

Give proper treatment to residents with feeding tubes to prevent problems (such as aspiration pneumonia, diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, metabolic abnormalities, nasal-pharyngeal ulcers) and help restore eating skills, if possible.

Make sure that doctors see a resident's plan of care at every visit and make notes about progress and orders in writing.

Make sure that the facility is administered in an acceptable way that maintains the well-being of each resident .

Operate and provide services according to Federal, State, and local laws and professional standards.

Establish a governing body that is legally responsible for establishing and implementing policies for managing and operating the facility and appoints a properly licensed administrator responsible for managing the facility

Employ or obtain outside professional resources to provide services in the nursing home when the facility does not employ a qualified professional to furnish a required service.

Keep clinical record information safe.

Provide activities to meet the interests and needs of each resident.
