The policy included cleaning and disinfection of surfaces touched by patients, healthcare staff and visitors, and cleaning environmental surfaces and surfaces with visible soil, followed by disinfection in accordance with evidence-based practice guidance.
Using a clean microfiber cloth with cleaner/disinfectant solution or a properly saturated cleaner/disinfectant wipe, wipe all surfaces. Wipe any desktops, telephone, arm chairs, door and cabinet handles, light switches, closet handles, and any other high-touch areas in the room, again following a logical pattern to avoid duplication or missing items.
