At 9:21 a.m., the administrator returned and told inspectors the facility had started the process of providing updates to residents and their representatives. The new postings for the units had not yet been ordered.
The facility's own internal Resident Rights policy, last updated in October 2024, stated that copies of resident rights were posted throughout the facility. That much was true. What the policy did not address was when or how the facility would notify residents of any changes to state or federal laws affecting their rights during their stay.
The gap between what the policy promised and what the walls actually showed had been sitting there, apparently unnoticed, since at least the Obama administration's first term.
The inspection cited the deficiency as carrying minimal harm or potential for actual harm, and noted it had the potential to affect all 40 residents currently in the facility.
